A good night, a good year

Asher is separating our laundry out on our kitchen floor. This is wonderful because it signifies a milestone in our new home: our washer and dryer are hooked up! He is a wonderful man. And my Dad is wonderful for spending the evening hooking it up with him.

I am reading on the couch, thoroughly enjoying "Julie & Julie". (book review coming soon, I'm sure...) However, the fact that I just ruined a batch of chocolate chip cookies for the second time this month is not deterring me in my culinary adventures. Although it does make me feel that a baker such as this is not worthy of a KitchenAid stand mixer. 

My furnace is working, my pantry is not empty, my upcoming week is filling up with friends. 2009 is looking good.
