55 tomatoes!

There are 55 tomatoes on one of my tomato plants. No joke. They have 10 days to grow into red juicy goodness before we move! I spent some time in the garden yesterday, inspecting the plants, which does include talking and caressing. And some squealing. (Zane's new found love of my garden does encourage the spontaneous laughter and yelling whenever we find a new tomato to pick - he does make my heart quite warm and gushy). I sprayed down some of the zucchini plants with biodegradable dish soap, which will hopefully keep the earwigs at bay. I also, under the tutelage of a friend, attacked the roots of my tomatoes with a shovel, in the hopes that the plant will panic, thinking its being attacked. Then it will try to go to seed to protect itself, ripening the tomatoes in its efforts. We'll see how it goes. Here are a few pictures of my jungle-esque garden.
